In an official communication, Datsun has confirmed the launch date of the most awaited Go hatchback in India. Go will be launched on 19th March at an event in Delhi.
India will be the first country in the world to get Go. Production of the car is already underway, media drives are all done, features and details are already known, just the prices are keeping us away from declaring this car a roaring success in the market. And along with us, Datsun also knows how bad pricing can kill an otherwise competent product.
In an exclusive revelation, we have already shared with you that Nissan has discontinued the entry level variant of Micra Active which started at Rs 3.5 Lakhs to create ample amount of space for Datsun Go to breathe in. According to our estimates and the hints we have got from Datsun, Go is expected to start at very attractive prices of Rs 2.99 Lakhs for the entry level variant, with the top of the line Go going for somewhere around 3.7 Lakhs, all prices our estimates ex-showroom Delhi.
Datsun Go will be a competition to Alto800, Eon, Alto K10 and possibly a few others but with a bigger more powerful 1.2L petrol engine and loads of interior space, it topples the competition in many prime parameters.
