Volkswagen India has finished 7 years in India. They started operations in the Indian automotive market only in 2007 but began the ground survey with Skoda back in 2001.
The company has since then found quite a few takers of their sound German engineering and sturdy build quality. The Volkswagen Group India is a part of the Volkswagen AG, which is globally represented by 12 brands from 7 European countries. 11 automotive brands which include the likes of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Scania, Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge) and MAN. They also own the motorcycling legend, Ducati.
The company has invested Rs 3,800 crores on their manufacturing plant at Chakan in Pune, the largest amount ever invested in India by a German company. They also have a unit in Aurangabad.
