Duster Facelift Launch scheduled for March 2016 end – will get AMT
Duster was itself not a very Value for Money compact SUV when it was launched. However, Creta and S-Cross, both of which were introduced at atrocious prices, made it (Duster) look well-priced further aided by the heavenly discounts Renault is/was offering on their best-seller (after Kwid).
Once the highest seller in the segment, Duster’s share has been reduced to a minority with Creta being the current hot seller. However, as a product we always applauded Duster for its handling, butch looks and ride quality, over Creta.
Renault now intends to fight back and has prepared a long-delayed facelift of Duster which was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016. Autocar reports that they intend to launch the SUV as early as next month.
Along with refreshed looks, the chief arsenal for the new Duster will be the AMT gearbox it will be offered with. AMT, which Renault calls as Easy-R, will be limited to the 110PS variant and will be the first transmission of such a kind in the segment and a first for Renault India as well.
