Exactly a Month Before Launch, 2015 Verna Facelift Spotted Uncamouflaged

Once the numero uno in the C2 sedan segment, Hyundai has seen their Verna kicked off to the third sport by the onslaught from the new Honda City and Maruti Ciaz.

And in a typical Hyundai style, they have their response ready – the new 2015 Verna facelift. The car has been spotted on the roads earlier as well but it appears that prior to its launch which is exactly a month away (on 16th February 2015), the ner Verna is running around without any camouflage whatsoever!

Snapped by the folks at Powerdrift, these pics confirm that the new Verna facelift India will be getting is the same model which is also sold as new Solaris in international markets and was unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show. So, the new design, unlike the current Verna which is flashy, is more aggressive and lends the car a wider look.

New Verna facelift will get a new grille, wider swept-back headlamps, pointed fog lamps and a new bumper. Changes at the rear are not significant but for some reason the new Verna in these pics appear to be bigger. There will be refreshes to the interiors for sure and expect introduction of some new features as well.

In terms of engines, we expect Hyundai to continue with the same set of 1.4L petrol and diesel and 1.6L petrol and diesel engine combinations with minor tweaks for better efficiency. There are also expectations that the new Verna will be a better handler and ride quality will also improve.

It will get real interesting with the launch of the new Verna. We will really love to see what will it eat into – the City or Ciaz or the lesser mortals in the segment? What is your bet..?
