After Fiat India broke up the six-year distribution agreement with Tata Motors, they’re up with their first Fiat Exclusive Dealership in India. Fiat India’s first dedicated dealership is called Tejaswi Motors and is situated at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. Fiat is a globally renowned brand and plans to set up a new company to sell its cars in India. Mr. Enrico Atanasio, Fiat India’s current Head-Commercial would head the proposed new company.
At the event of inauguration of the first Fiat Exclusive Dealership in Hyderabad, Mr. Enrico said that previously the company was planning to set up 20 dedicated dealerships across the country by the end of this year. But now they plan to accelerate the process as they want people to feel and experience the Brand Fiat even strongly. “We consider India as an important market and the company to be set up in near future will leverage this potential”, Mr. Enrico said. However, he agrees with the fact Fiat needs better management and manpower with trained people. “Fiat is one of the best known brands in the world market because of its past. It takes time to move from past to future. We need to train strong force and have right process and people”, he said.
As a matter of fact, Fiat India is experiencing very low sales figures in India. Mr. Enrico admits saying: “I expect a growing role for Fiat in India. Today we are 8 percent in European market, 18 percent in Latin America and 12 percent in USA market. There is no reason why we can’t improve our current market situation (in India) which is much, much lower”. But it seems that Fiat India has started growing as they claim that they’re selling more cars in the first quarter of this year compared to the last quarter of the last year. Fiat is analysing the Indian Car Market and if everything goes fine, we can expect Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep to hit the Indian roads in near future. Is there a new horizon of hope, Fiat?

Fiat makes great cars supported by extremely poor marketing strategy and after sale service. If fiat can make up this time with the after sales and better marketing there is no reason for them to be a flop brand in India any more. Wish fiat all d best..
