Ford India has officially announced the commencement of bookings of Figo Aspire, their upcoming compact sedan, from 27th July! Based on the Ka+ sold in Brazil, Figo Aspire emerges as a sub 4 meter car and will play in the compact sedan segment in India which already has players like Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest.
Bookings can be made at any of the 341 sales outlets of Ford which are present in 186 cities of India at an initial payment of Rs 30,000. If you have your eyes set on the car let us quickly brief you about its official specs and details.
Figo Aspire is the first car in the segment to have driver and passenger airbags standard across all variants. The top variant also gets side and curtain airbags for an extra safety blanket. Engine options include the same 1.2 litre Ti-VCT petrol mill which has been reworked and produces 88 PS of maximum power and has a fuel efficiency rating of 18.2 kmpl. The diesel is the familiar 1.5 litre TDCi motor producing 100 PS of power and an ARAI rated fuel economy of 25.8 kmpl. Both of these will be mated to 5 speed manual transmissions.
The third option is a 1.5 litre Ti-VCT petrol producing 112 PS of maximum power which returns a fuel efficiency of 17.2 kmpl. Apart from being one of the most powerful engine offering in the segment, it comes mated with a 6 speed PowerShift automatic transmission.
Ford is introducing several first-in-class technological features like the MyFord Dock with the Figo Aspire which allows drivers to store, mount and charge mobile phones, MP3 players and satellite navigation systems, and to integrate these devices into the car’s entertainment system.
The Figo Aspire will be available in seven colours:

- Oxford White,
- Tuxedo Black,
- Deep Impact Blue,
- Ingot Silver
