Just a few days back Chevrolet pulled up a fast one by their surprise announcement of the launch of two new UVs for India. According to the company, Trailblazer SUV is scheduled to be launched sometime this year and will be followed by their Spin MPV in 2016!
As a build-up on the same, their muscular Trailblazer has made its spy pic debut in India. There have been various speculations of Chevrolet considering this tall lanky SUV for our market for the last few years but this is the first on-camera spotting here. The Trailblazer will be picking up fight against the big wigs like Fortuner, Endeavour etc.
Expected to be brought down to India via the CKD route to keep costs in check, the spy pics of the heavily camouflaged mule, sourced from AutocarIndia, reveal the traditional silhouette of the brawny SUV – which is dated and old-school, for sure! We can notice the indicators on top of the head lamp console over those projectors. The rear end reminds a bit of the Fortuner but is not as fresh. However, for some unknown reasons Trailblazer excites us…

Chevrolet showcased the Trailblazer at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo and the SUV does appear to be spacious. Internationally, the body on ladder SUV comes equipped with a 2.8 liter 180 bhp diesel motor and a smaller 2.5 liter 150 bhp diesel engine options. There is a bigger 3.6 liter 236 bhp petrol option as well. It is unclear at this point which engine options/combos will be brought to India.
