Ford India is set to have a busy year ahead as the company plans to launch as many as four all-new cars all targeted at different segments which includes the muscle car Mustang! They recently showcased the production version of the Figo Aspire during the inauguration of the Sanand plant. The car maker, as per a report on Autocar India also plans to launch the Figo hatchback by mid-2015.
The Mustang will be Ford India’s premium-most offering and will be targeted towards a niche audience. Globally the Mustang is available with a variety of engines which include 305 bhp 2.3 liter EcoBoost, 305 bhp 3.7 litre V6 and 420 bhp 5.0 litre motor. Expected to be brought via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, the Mustang will cost a bomb for sure! According to earlier estimates, Mustang may be priced at about 40 to 50 Lakhs in India.
Speculations of Mustang’s Indian entry surfaced in 2013 and going by Autocar’s current report, they appear to be convinced that Ford will eventually launch the flagship here sometime this year, probably after the new Figo hatch.
