Pune based Premier Motors launched the new Rio with the famed 1.3L multijet diesel engine sourced from Fiat in August this year.
Expectations were pretty much ripe that with the inclusion of the same engine which does duty on best sellers like Swift, Ritz, Manza etc, Rio would be able to do fairly decent sales, if not good! From the generic feedback we have received so far, people like Rio’s design over a few other cars we have. With this engine, people have no trust-related issues as such.
But its the slightly higher price specifically of the CRDI4 model and the lack of easily available service centers (including sales outlets) are a concern. Premier is trying to spread its wings slowly and has plans to open 100 centers by this year end.
In a bid to make the Rio reach more ears the company is running a promotional scheme, where it is rewarding a person by Rs 3000 if he refers a customer for buying the Rio. They banner on their official Facebook page has a contact number of some official who would give further information.
When we tried to contact Mr Praveen Shende, here is what details we got:
- Anyone who refers a customer for Premier Rio and the the sale gets completed, the referer would get rewarded
- The amount is Rs 3000
- Payment would be done by a Account Payee Check
- The biggest relaxation in the condition is that you need not necessarily be a Premier customer. Anyone and everyone can avail this promotional scheme.
- All you need to do is inform Mr Praveen about a potential customer and if he buys a Premier Rio, you would be eligible for a Rs 3000 cheque.
This is purely a referral scheme where Premier is trying to reach out to as many people as possible. Would this scheme do any good to Rio’s sales? Let us wait and watch.
