Made operational in November 2010 at a cost of USD 230 million, it has just completed two years of production. In this relatively smaller tenure, the plant has reached a milestone of producing 100,000 engines on 13th December. GM attributed the fantastic response to Beat, Cruze and the latest Sail U-VA.

This plant currently manufactures Beat’s 1.0L and Sail’s 1.3L TCDi diesel engines along with Spark’s 1.0L and 1.2L Beat/Sail’s gasoline engines.
This plant also has the flexibility to accommodate production of another 1.4 Lac engines per year considering the future launches of Sail notchback and Enjoy MPV in a couple of months. A few days back, this plant also received EPA Energy Star Challenge Industry Award.
