Another update has come for the upcoming Rainforest Challenge after Force Gurkha was announced the official sponsor of the same. This time, the organizers have announced a collaboration with Goa Tourism as the official Tourism Partner of India’s first Rainforest Challenge, which will be on lines of the famous Malaysian Rainforest Challenge. The state of Goa has always been ahead when it comes to hosting international-level events, like the Goa Fest and India Bike Week.
Monsoon has always been a lean time for Goa in terms of tourist inflow; this event would be a reversal as it would help in attracting tourists during this period. The plan is to change all of that and encourage adventure lovers to visit the state during the monsoons and experience the other adventurous and fun side of Goa.
With a separate participation classification set apart for touring adventurers at the Force Gurkha RFC India 2014, it perfectly synergizes with Goa Tourism’s plans of promoting Goa as a destination for adventure tourism.
The Force Gurkha RFC India 2014 will see participants testing their mettle from August 8 to August 14, 2014, against the harsh driving challenges which the rain drenched Goa will throw at them. This would be the country’s first step to become an international sporting destination for the global off-roading enthusiasts.
India with its wide variety of geographic conditions has tons of spots and events which can be a great venue for off-roading, our very own Raid de Himalaya being a perfect example. This might just be a small beginning but who knows, may be with time, we also may one day have something as big as our very own Dakar!
