AutoCar reports that Honda’s mid-sized sedan Accord has an uncertain future and there are possibilities of the car getting axed in the future.
Honda has six models in UK – Accord, Civic, CR-V, CR-Z, Insight and Jazz. Accord is available in two variants – Accord Saloon and Accord Tourer. There is big competition in this segment and Accord has slowly been found succumbing to it. Rising popularity of compact SUVs is also one point which is hurting D-Segment sedan cars’ sales in Europe. Sales of Accord have gone down from 10,000 units per year to a paltry figure of 2500.
Accord which UK gets is made in Japan and importing also hurts upon its profitability. In India also, Accord is not any well along with Civic.
