SPIED: Ertiga’s Nemesis Honda Mobilio MPV Caught on the Roads; July Launch

So, unlike the new City, Honda is not keeping the Mobilio a real secret! It is out on the streets and has been snapped for the first time outside Honda’s factory without an iota of camouflage.

Interestingly, without any number plates and test equipment, this doesn’t appear to be a test mule, per say! According to an earlier pic, Honda has reportedly started with the test production of the car and this may be a dealership display sample or a media test drive car.

Talking about the car in question, this Mobilio is the ‘V’ grade (which may be the top of the line) and appears to be a lot longer than Ertiga from the side profile pic. Longer in terms of size it is, but this is almost Innova-ish long!

i-DTEC badge at the rear also confirms that this is the diesel Mobilio with the 1.5L motor which produces 100PS on City and Amaze. This being a 7-seater, more emphasis will be on its load-carrying capability and there is almost a certainty that Honda would have tweaked up the torque figures.

Based on the Brio hatchback, Mobilio will be manufactured out of Honda’s Greater Noida plant and will also come with a petrol engine, the same 117bhp 1.5L i-VTEC unit which does duty on the new City.

Considering that Ertiga starts at Rs 5.8 Lakhs, we expect Honda to price Mobilio at somewhere around Rs 6 Lakhs for the petrol variant and Rs 7.5 Lakhs for the diesel variant and its launch is confirmed in July.
