Duster has not only been successful in India but the world over it has been liked for what it offers. To extract more out of a successful platform, manufacturers around the world take their bestselling models to churn out more derivatives and versions. The French automaker, which recently unveiled their new small hatch Kwid in India, will be doing the same to Duster. The company will be revealing a pick-up version of the Duster in Buenos Aires, Argentina on June 18, 2015 at the upcoming Buenos Aires Motor Show.
In order to build the tempo, they have revealed two teaser images of the vehicle which will also go on to become the first ever pick-up truck by Renault.
Renault is calling it the Sport Utility Pickup (SUP) which features a proper dual cab with four doors, and has the capacity of seating 5 people. They also say that it has a roomy bed area to store all that you want in those camping trips!
This takes us back to November 2014 when Renault showcased the Oroch concept at the Sao Paulo Motor Show. While the specifics are a bit different but the overall silhouette remains pretty much the same. The head lamps and rear tail lamps can be expected to be LED units and there is definitely an aura of freshness in the product.
There are no hints of its Indian entry but considering that the sales of Duster are going down, with many rivals lined up and the growing interest of Indians in the pick-up truck segment, we feel Renault may consider it as an option…and we say bring it on…!
myself and 7 of my friends are eagerly waiting to buy this excellent vehicle once launched in india. The oroch is looking good and spacious and nice specs. so we are also expecting the same to be launched with a 1.8 litre engine and a 2 litre engine in india with 4×4 option and manual drive.
