Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift Emerges for First Time

Thanks to the fiercely competitive small market in India, manufacturers are always busy bringing in small, periodic changes in their line-up. This time, it is the turn of the Hyundai Grand i10. The hatchback is almost three years old now and a partially camouflaged test unit of the car has been spotted for the first time by the folks at Motor Vikatan.

Taking the fight to an established rival like the Maruti Swift has never been easy. However, the recent slump in sales of the Swift, thanks to the Baleno, has certainly worked in Hyundai’s favour. Mechanically the updated car is expected to carry the same 1.1 litre three pot diesel and 1.2 litre four pot petrol mills from the present iteration. Engineers at Hyundai may just be able to manage a slightly higher fuel efficiency figure.

The front bumper of the refreshed Grand i10 can be expected to bear a new design. Same is going to be the case of the rear setup. The alloy wheels look new and more premium. Interiors sadly have not been spied yet but we would love to see a touchscreen infotainment system and a rear AC vent. Now the latter should not be too much to ask for as the company provides it in some variants of its compact sedan, the Xcent.

Speaking of the Xcent, we wouldn’t be surprised if it too gets a small nip and tuck job soon after the launch of the updated Grand i10.
