Just one day to go for the launch of Hyundai’s Grand i10 and we see the South-Korean auto maker has mounted a huge media offensive panning all frontlines, i.e. traditional print media as well as relatively newer web and social media streams.
Fun Finds A New Lingo
This was the line accompanying Hyundai’s print ad on leading newspaper Times of India. The ad appeared on the Sunday Edition of both the Bhubaneswar and Pune versions and possibly across the nation as well.
The car isn’t revealed officially, rather a silhouette of the Grand i10 made up of exclamation marks is all what we get to see. The color combination seems tacky, with the exclamation marks in orange and a green backdrop behind them.
Nevertheless, the catchline seems honest enough. By tapping into an all-new niche between i10 and i20, the Grand i10 should do well enough to give fun a new definition.

The Hyundai India facebook page is literally buzzing with activity on the Grand i10. Right from what Hormazd Sorabjee spoke about the i10 to the link for tomorrow’s live launch webcast, we have seen it all. Oh, and there’s a contest titled “Treat it Like You Own It” up and running too.
With all these tricks up their ad team’s sleeve, we are sure Hyundai has been successful in garnering a significant interest in this new (very important) compact car.
Hyundai’s official website too doesn’t fall behind. The Orange-Green lingo is featured on the homepage, with options for booking a test drive available as well. There’s another statement about the live streaming of the launch event on the 3rd of September.
The Grand i10 possesses bigger proportions and chunkier looks as compared to the existing i10. It will be placed in between the existing i10 and the i20 models. The biggest luring point is the debut of Hyundai’s smallest 1.1L diesel engine in India. We expect the price to start at around Rs 4-4.25 Lakhs for the 1.2L petrol engine.
