India Bound 2014 Renault Duster Facelift; Pics & Details

Barely a few weeks back, Renault introduced a facelifted version of their Dacia Duster which was expected to spawn the Renault badged Duster facelift as well and here it is, officially out.

Renault is coming out with a redone Duster and one would say it’s about time.

Since the oncoming of intense competition in this segment, the initial enthusiasm created by this little masculine soft roader has been constantly waning and Renault has done well to give it a facelift when it will be noticed and appreciated.

The 2014 Duster still carries those curves and muscles of a featherweight boxer, but this time around it looks like the boxer has been on steroids.

The front grill and headlight clusters have been redone and now the front looks more aggressive with its chrome plated banding and larger air intake. Renault has also included daytime running lights to the new Duster. The new aluminium roof bars adds to the tall stance of the vehicle and also enhances its ‘go-anywhere’ appeal.

The 16-inch ‘Dark Metal’ alloys and the skid pad fore and aft also impart Duster a more muscular presence. The rear displays a new brake light assembly and boasts of a pretty good departure angle which would come handy if you happen to take it off the tarmac.

The interior still abounds with plastic; nonetheless, it looks robust like the exterior. The refreshed interior now features darker colour tones for fascia and upholstery contrasting with chrome inlays. In-cabin sound-proofing has been improved to keep the diesel and wind noise down and the new Duster also features a new navigation multimedia system.

The Dacia Duster was confirmed with a new 1.2 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine capable of 120 hp, however there is no mention of the same on the Renault badged Duster so far. New Duster facelift also gets cruise control, Electronic Stability Control, 4 airbags, Rear Park Assist and a new body colour – Comete Grey!

A few days back, Renault has talked about refreshing the new Duster in India and what you see on your screens is almost the 100% candidate for the same. What gets slashed/added for India remains to be seen but official launch may take just about a few months from now…
