Signaling a return to their haven, Jaguar yesterday launched the F-TYPE in Mumbai. Renowned for two-seater convertibles focused on performance, agility and driver engagement, Jaguar now has a broader lineup of models. The Jaguar F-TYPE has a legacy that dates back to about 75 years, and it includes some of the most drool-worthy as well as awe-inspiring cars ever built.
The F-TYPE will be available in the form of two variants in India: The F-TYPE S and the F-TYPE V8S. The F-TYPE S is propelled by the new 3.0 Litre V6 supercharged petrol mill, which churns out a whopping 380 PS. The F-TYPE S reaches 0-100 km/h in 4.9 secs, and maxes out at 275 kph.
The F-TYPE V8S is the faster variant. It has a massive 5.0 Litre V8 supercharged petrol mill, capable of producing an incredible 495 PS of power. The F-TYPE V8S can reach 0-100 km/h within 4.3 secs, and possesses a top whack of 300 km/h.
Rohit Suri, Vice President, Jaguar & Land Rover India, was there at the event to oversee the launch proceedings. He expressed optimism about the Jaguar F-TYPE heralding a new era in the Indian sports car market courtesy its breathtaking design and driver-focused build.
He felt that the F-TYPE will further enhance the appeal of the brand Jaguar. Jaguar India has registered a sales surge of 68% in the first quarter of this fiscal year, buoyed by the sales of the locally-assembled Jaguar XF 2.2 Litre diesel.
The F-TYPE S will possess a price-tag of 1.37 crores, while that of the F-TYPE V8S will be 1.61 crores. Both these prices are Ex-showroom Mumbai, and do not include Octroi.
