Jaguar to Launch XJ Ultimate & F-Type Models in India

Currently, it’s all Germans who dominates in the luxury car market in India. Now, the Tata Motor‘s fully owned British brand Jaguar – Land Rover (JLR) is set to take on the Germans and make them face a tough time!

Mr.  Rohit Suri, Head, Premier Car Division at Jaguar Land Rover India, said to Financial Chronicle: “We will launch the Jaguar XJ Ultimate and Jaguar F TYPE two-seater sports car in India in 2013 to give Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz a run for their money”.

Mr. Del Sehmar, PR and communication manager at JLR, explains the details of the two new upcoming models: “The Jaguar XJ Ultimate car that offers space, refinement and technology is targeted at chauffeur-driven market and as well others, who want to make a statement”, adding  “The Jaguar F-Type is an all new convertible sports car inspired by the C-X16 concept”.

These two models will be launched first in UK and Europe by next year, and will be imported to India as Completely Built unit (CBU) from the Castle Bromwich plant in Birmingham, UK. Any possible price tag for these two new models has not been disclosed yet.

In the company’s annual report for the financial year 2012, Mr. Ratan N. Tata says: “JLR has undertaken its most ambitious product development program in its history and will launch several new sports sedans and sports cars in the next two years”.

JLR is also looking forward to expand it’s sales and service network by opening up new dealerships at Tier II cities. Mr. Suri says: “With the 15th dealership in Pune, which we launched last weekend, we are fairly well represented in metros and 13 cities across India, since we launched our first showroom in Mumbai in June 2009 and we will now enter tier II cities and towns”.

So, what else could one ask for when we are about to get two new eye-popping road-rippers by next year. Buckle up!
