June 2014 Sales: Ford Exports 4 Cars Out of Ten; Registers 36% Growth

Ford India has registered an increase of 36 per cent in its June 2014 sales, clocking 11,935 units in the month as compared to 8,771 units it sold in June 2013. Domestic sales stood at 7,258 units against 7,145 units of June 2013 giving it a lowly 1.58 per cent increase, while exports saw a movement of 4,677 units.

The lower growth on the domestic figures is intentional as Ford is still keeping a tab on the number of EcoSport’s units for the domestic market keeping thousands of customers waiting.

Ford launched the new 2014 Fiesta facelift in India last month at very luring price points. While the new Fiesta missed out on a fiery petrol mill, its diesel avatar would please the fuel efficient seekers who would want their cars to be good handlers.

Ford also organised Monsoon Ready Service Camp to provide its customers a tension free and comfortable drive during the rainy season. This facility was available free of charge to Ford customers throughout the country.

The next major product from the American manufacturer will be the Next-Gen Figo and Figo compact sedan, which may be launched during the festive season or early next year.

The revival started by the EcoSport seems to have taken the company on an upbeat path but we wish it had laid more emphasis on the domestic market, a bit more!
