Renault India’s next big move (biggest after Duster) in the Indian market is the small car Kwid. An entry level hatchback built on the styling cues of crossovers, Kwid is anticipated to be a game changer for the French car maker. While an exact launch date has not been confirmed by the company, the word is that Renault dealerships have already started taking bookings for the car.
On contacting a few dealerships in New Delhi, we got to know these are ‘officially’ kickstarted by Renault but there has been no official communication on the same yet! However, the booking amount was found to be varying in the national capital from Rs 25,000 to Rs 35,000 between various dealers. As per them, deliveries will commence once the car is launched on first come first serve basis. So if you have been waiting to get the Kwid as the next ride of your choice you better hurry to your nearest Renault dealership.
Kwid is based on the Renault-Nissan alliance’s Common Module Family- A (CMF-A) platform. Slated to take on the Alto and Eon, it will be powered by a newly developed 800 cc petrol mill. The external appearance flaunts an impressive front nose with inspirations drawn from crossovers. The interior gets a neat uncluttered look with a 7 inch touch screen Media Nav system!
Renault has started promoting the Kwid aggressively on social media circles and as we told you, its media drive is most probably scheduled for next month in Goa (link to report), followed by its launch. The price, as they have promised, will lie between the Rs 3 to 4 Lakh mark.
