Mr. Aniruddh Bhuwalka, MD, AMW said “The luxury bus is likely to hit the road in the January-March quarter.

To be noted that almost 1000 buses a year in the luxury segment aren’t still that huge and there are not many noticeable companies are that are operating in the area except Volvo and Mercedes-Benz. And thus AMW, while not revealing the actual price tag, has just hinted that the buses will be priced much lower than the two aforementioned biggies. Volvo and Mercedes-Benz costs around 1 crore!

The pricing will be in line with our philosophy of providing world class product at a competitive price.” He quoted.

Also, the AMW trucks are priced a tad higher by 15-20 percent than the companies like Tata and Ashok Leyland, still these trucks are almost 50% cheaper or say, priced lower than the Volvo trucks.

Company also plans to introduce 6-8 new models this financial year to strengthen its market share. “This year we are planning to roll out anywhere between six to eight products. Of it majority would be variants of the existing products,” Mr. Aniruddh Bhuwalka added.

To be noted, AMW right now is busy exporting the products to SAARC countries and readying itself for places like the Middle-East and the Northern Africa. Last year, the company sold around 10,000 trucks which was a growth of 50% compared to the last fiscal and has just added one more product to its catalog in the 16-tonne category.
