Mahindra & Mahindra, the company that made its foray into automobile manufacturing by first assembling the legendary Willys Jeeps in India, is majorly known for its jeeps and SUVs across the length and breadth of our country. The company also manufactures two-wheelers, light commercial vehicles, etc, however, in most rural parts of our country, Mahindra is known more for its agricultural tractors than for all the rest of its vehicles combined.
Moreover, it remains not just the largest tractor manufacturer in India, which is the biggest tractor market in the whole world, but also the largest tractor company globally if we talk about the sales volumes. Also, the company has been manufacturing tractors since the 1960s and its expertise in the field is second to none.
Today, Mahindra launched its new entry-level tractor, the Yuvraj 215 NXT, in New Delhi. It’s a 15 HP tractor that comes with a water-cooled, single-cylinder, direct injection engine and Mahindra claims it to be the first in the segment to have Hydraulics with Automatic Depth and Draft control, and that this feature would make the operation with draft implements smoother along with ensuring an even depth in the field (while ploughing). The top speed of the tractor is 25.6 km/h while the haulage capacity is 1.5 tonne. It comes with a standard PTO (Power Take Off), side shift gear lever, seat weight adjustment, big headlamps, two-part detachable silencer, and a tool box located below the battery box.
Mahindra also claims that the Yuvraj 215 NXT has the best-in-segment fuel efficiency, thereby giving the lowest operational cost to the user. The compact tractor is recommended by the company to be used in small field pans and in intercultural operations.
