In an official communication, Ford India has informed that their domestic sales stood at 6,356 units in March, up 21 percent as compared to March 2013.
Further, Ford continued strengthening India’s position as a centre of manufacturing excellence by exporting 5,449 vehicles in March. With a combined domestic sales and export of 11,805 units in the month of March 2014 up by 57% from 7,499 vehicles in the same period last year.
We know this might pinch all those who are waiting for their EcoSports, but that is how things will roll from the company!
Ford’s sales have been strongly propelled by the bumper hit EcoSport which has been selling like hot cakes right from day one. The 1.0l Ecoboost petrol, 1.5L frugal diesel combined with an attractive price tag has literally set the wheels rolling for Ford.
During this process, Ford EcoSport has also went on to become the most awarded Ford car ever since their inception here in India overtaking the good old Figo with 30+ awards.
According to the info we have, Ford has the Fiesta facelift planned for launch very soon. Next, we also expect the next-gen Endeavour to make way, apart from the Next-Gen Figo hatch and Figo compact Sedan. These, apart from facelifts and niptucks that the company may have planned for their existing products. But how many of them will launch within this financial year is unknown at this point of time.
The upcoming Fiesta with its new looks does seem to be an interesting car but reports of it NOT sporting the EcoBoost petrol motor will definitely put a lot of prospective buyers at bay.
