After many speculations and lot of spyshots Maruti has finally launched Dzire with Automated Manual Transmission in India at a price tag of Rs 8.39 lakhs ex-showroom in Delhi. Dzire AGS as Maruti calls it, is available only in the range topping ZDi variant and becomes the second diesel car in the country to get AMT (first is Zest) and the fourth Maruti product to do so.

One of the country’s largest selling car, Dzire has already sold more than 11.5 lakh units and that makes it the only (compact) sedan in the country to hit the 1 million mark.

Dzire AMT Fuel Efficiency & Engine

Dzire AMT is offered on the 1.3 litre multijet diesel engine which churns out 75 PS of maximum power at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of peak torque at 2,000 rpm – no changes have been made here. The AGS/AMT transmission claims to give you the comfort of a regular clutch free automatic transmission without compromising on fuel efficiency. In fact, Maruti Dzire AMT returns the absolute same (as manual) ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 26.59 kmpl

Dzire AMT vs Zest AMT: Price

Dzire AGS ZDi comes with all the bells and whistles of the regular manual ZDI variant and costs Rs 48,999 over it.

Against the competition – Zest AMT, Dzire AMT is costlier by 25k for the top XTA variant. Tata also offers the Zest in mid XMA variant which is a whopping 1 Lakh+ cheaper.

Apart from this Maruti also sells Dzire with a  4 speed automatic transmission which is paired with the 1.2 Liter petrol engine.
