We had reported in detail when Maruti-Suzuki had unveiled the petrol powered WagonR Stingray. AutocarPro also suggests that the CNG version of the WagonR Stingray will follow soon.
The Stingray is a more upmarket sibling of the WagonR and is placed over it. Its lowest trim LXi costs 4.09 lakhs INR and the highest trim VXi (O) with ABS and Airbags has a price tag of 4.66 lakhs INR. The mid VXi variant will set one back by 4.37 lakhs INR.
Though the Stingray is propelled by the same 1.0 Litre K10 petrol engine, its exterior shell and the instrument list eclipses the WagonR.
Here’s the list :
- Projector Headlamps (First in its class and the best feature of the car)
- A Reflector Grille (too garish for us)
- Alloy Wheels in Brushed Grey Finish
- Chrome plated Tail-lamps
- Chrome detailing with Stingray badge on tail-gate
On the interiors, Stingray shows off with an all-new Blue-themed Multi-information Display which reads out important parameters like instant as well as average fuel economy and the distance to empty. The interiors also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls mounted on it.
WagonR always interested people which can best be called as above youth with its boxy looks. With the Stingray, Maruti-Suzuki intends to draw young customers into its fold with its flashy looks. With the intent of launching a CNG version, it gets cleared that Maruti intends to keep the Stingray as a permanent member in the lineup. However, with the current rising prices of CNG, we feel Maruti may just delay Stingray CNG’s launch a little.
Another food for thought, is WagonR Stingray a replacement for the defunct Estilo?
