Hello Gorgeous! Mercedes Adds New Black Colour Option to A-Class

Mercedes Benz A-Class is one of the best looking cars from the three pointed star’s stable and it now gets a new colour option. All you black lovers…(yes we are one.!) A-Class has got a new metallic Cosmos Black, as the company names it, and will surely be the colour to own apart from red.

The all black A-Class with those 302 diamond pins on the grille, coupe-like silhouette..and we might just be looking at something real gorgeous! The new colour option has been updated on the new A-Class brochure.

With this new update, Mercedes A-Class is now available in the following 4 colour options:

  • Jupiter Red (non-metallic),
  • Cirrus White (non-metallic),
  • Polar Silver (metallic),
  • Cosmos Black (metallic).

A-Class is one of the most streamlined cars of the world and has a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.27 (to give you an idea, the world’s fastest production car, the Venom GT has a Cd value of 0.39). It also comes loaded with safety features including ESP (Electronic Stability Program), ASR (Acceleration Skid Control), electric parking brake, ABS (Antilock Braking System), Brake Assist System, Attention Assist and Hill Start Assist.

The A-Class is available in two engine variants:

  • A 180 Sport: 1595cc, four cylinder petrol mill producing 122.4PS of power and 200Nm of peak torque. It has a claimed top speed of 202kmph and hits the ton in 9.2s.
  • A 180 CDI Style: 2143cc four cylinder diesel mill producing 109PS of power and 250Nm of peak torque. It claims of a top speed of 190kmph and hits 100 in 10.6s.

Both the variants are mated with a 7G-DCT 7 speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Mercedes A-Class also features an ECO Start/Stop function as standard which helps in boosting its efficiency figures.
