Honda has been talking about their Mobilio’s July launch for some time now. In the official June Month’s Sales mailer they have confirmed their first MPV’s launch ‘towards the end of this month’. This means we can expect the MPV to be reaching us anytime from 21st to 31st July.
The Ertiga rival will be produced at the company’s Greater Noida plant with plans to clock 45,000 units in the first year of its launch which equates to slightly lesser than 4000 units on an average . The company has also started with an aggressive marketing strategy, with television commercials featuring ace comedian Kapil Sharma, bombarding social networking sites. With the first video having crossed more than 1.1 million views in a week, it is clearly evident that the car is very popular among the public.

Apart from the normal trim, Mobilio might also be launched in the RS variant. The RS variant was launched in Indonesia recently (while the normal Mobilio was launched last year). This variant will be the flagship variant and will feature:
- A wider body kit which includes a sporty front and rear bumper.
- LED projector headlights with light guide
- Twin lined front radiator protection grille (which hopefully would not get a chrome job!)
- A chrome exhaust finish
- Specially designed 15 inch alloy wheels
- All black interiors
- A new 6.1 inch colour screen in the central console acting as an infotainment system.
The Mobilio RS has been priced at 203.5 million Indonesian Rupiah (Rs 10.19 lakhs) with a manual transmission and 214 million Indonesian Rupiah (Rs 10.72 lakhs) with the CVT. This would surely make it a very promising car indeed. What say guys?
