More powerful 2014 ARIA launching on 12th March along with MOVUS

The updated version of Tata crossover-SUV Aria is about ready for a re-launch next week and the date happens to be 12th March 2014 according to Autocarindia.com. Aria was first launched in India in 2010.

Interestingly, a copy of the brochure for the updated Aria ended up with MotorBash three days ago and revealed that the new 2014 Aria is merely a minor niptuck job but with more power. (You can check it out here)

The Aria 2014 gets a slight power hike as well as better fuel efficiency courtesy the “new and refined” 2.2-liter VARICOR engine. The 2014 Aria gains about 10PS with its new engine as compared to its outgoing model and weighs a hefty 2850 kg (gross weight).

The new 2014 Aria also boasts of gizmos like NAVTEQ navigation system, rain-sensing wipers and light-sensing automatic headlamps. There is also the Tata Blue 5 Connect system enabling you to connect up to 5 phones for hands-free operation.

On the exteriors, the new Aria gets some cosmetic changes, stickers and reduced colour options. The much awaited automatic transmission for the Aria remains reclusive as yet. Perhaps the price hike entailed by the auto-box makes the Aria lose the price advantage it has against its arch rival Toyota Innova.

Tata MOVUS Launch

Interestingly, we were the first ones to share spyshots of the revamped Tata Grande as well as its new name ‘MOVUS‘! Tata will also launch the Movus MPV on the same day ie 12th of March!
