MotorBash Reader Spies The Upcoming 2014 Tata Vista Facelift in Pune

This appears to be the most stringent and possibly the toughest time Tata Motors is going through. It is majorly because of their lack of future vision when they were doing good.

They continued to let the competition run over them and are now pushed way back in terms of monthly sales tally. Nonetheless, the company has taken some serious cognizance of the situation and has planned to pull their socks in their complete car manufacturing process, specially the quality betterments as they have been accused of producing sub-quality products.

Apart from refreshing their complete lineup in the market, Vista is going for a serious makeover. One of our reader has shared this spyshot of the new Vista mule doing test runs somewhere in Pune.

The car has lost some camouflage, however, its not enough for us to ascertain the actual body changes. What we can make out is very little:

  1. Different and possibly more aggressive grille
  2. Restyled air dam
  3. Restyled front bumper
  4. Slightly Refreshed headlamps

However, most of the car appears to be similar to the current version on sale and this is where we become wary! Vista needs a comprehensive makeover and not really eenie-meenie jobs what this mule subscribes us to think. The presence of camouflage, however, makes us feel that Tata will (and should) work on it more to ensure it hits the bulls-eye when the company decides to launch it in the market. However, our source tells us that the rear is what will go through major changes.

In terms of engine options, it goes without saying that the Fiat sourced 1.3L Quadrajet diesel engine will be present, quite possibly in both the 75PS and 90PS tunes. 1.2L FIRE petrol motor is also expected to be carried over, but its the BS3 compliant 1.4L TDI mill that, we feel, will be kicked out. In place, the more modern 1.4L CR4 diesel engine should find place. MotorBash already has exclusive spyshots of Tata testing the CR4 motor on the current Vista. (Check them here)

An official peek is expected in the 2014 Auto Expo and a launch thereafter appears to be very much on the cards.

Yet again, we say, Tata please call the new Vista as ‘2014 Tata Vista’ and NOT ‘2014 Tata Indica Vista’!!!
