Normally, you will not see Nano test mules getting spotted in Rajasthan and in an interesting update, one of our avid reader Tanmoy Sengupta has snapped the latest fully camouflaged test mule of Tata Nano in Bikaner, carrying Pune’s registration.
The Nano you see on these pics is the upcoming Nano facelift which will come with a host of new cosmetic changes, most prominent of them being the new smiling front and rear bumper. Apart from that, it gets smart newly designed headlamps which has black outlines.
This Nano also has the tail-gate handle and a keyhole confirming that it has the openable rear tailgate. Tata showcased all these changes on the Tata Nano Twist Active model showcased at the Auto Expo in February. This could also be running with the AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) automatic gearbox which Tata displayed under the name of Nano F-Tronic.
Along with these changes, Nano facelift will also come with a bigger 24 liters fuel tank (as compared to 15 liters of current Nano) as well as improved interiors. It will continue to be offered with the 624cc 2 cylinder petrol engine which currently produces 38PS of power output and 51Nm of torque.
Apart from this, Tata is also working on an 800cc bigger petrol Nano as well as the Nano diesel which is already long delayed. Launch of facelifted Nano (along with Automatic) is expected around October this year.
