Barely after five months of the launch of the new more powerful 2015 Safari Storme, where power improved from 140 PS to 150 PS, Autocar reports that Tata is all set to introduce another update very soon.
The new Safari Storme, they say, will come with an even improved power output of 157 PS and more importantly the 400 Nm of peak torque from the 2.2 liter VARICOR diesel engine. This is the same variant which was spied testing with the VARICOR400 badge earlier but could not make it in the 2015 variant. The new Safari Storme will also get a 6 speed gearbox as well as a shift-on-fly four wheel drive.
Autocar, however, says that this will be offered as a top spec variant and the lesser LX and EX trims will continue with the current configuration of 150 PS 320 Nm and 5-speed gearbox. The new 400 Nm Safari Storme VX they say may be priced at Rs 13.37 Lakhs ex-showroom Mumbai.
