New 2015 Mahindra Thar CRDe Launched at Rs 8.03 Lakhs with Mechanical Locking Rear Differential

Mahindra has launched the new 2015 Thar off-roader’s facelift in India with some cosmetic updates for Rs 8.03 lakhs ex-showroom in Nashik. The new Thar will be limited to select cities and will be available only in the CRDe variant and according to what we understand, the DI version remains unchanged!

Mechanically the engine remains the same 2.5 litre mill churning out 105 bhp of maximum power at 3,800 rpm and 247 Nm of torque which peaks in the range of 1,800 to 2,000 rpm. The transmission too remains the same 5 speed manual unit with high and low range ratios. It gains first in the industry mechanical locking rear differential technology which engages automatically without the driver making any action, thus enhancing the vehicle’s off-road capability.
