Barely after 9 months Volkswagen introduced the new 1.5 liter engine on their Vento, the Germans have launched the new 2015 Vento facelift, with again hard to notice changes! Sales of Vento fell to 12,848 units last financial year when compared to 19,131 units in FY 2013-14.
The mid-size sedan gets a minor mid-life cosmetic update which will be sold first in India before the rest of the world. The German manufacturer also claims that the car has emerged as a more fuel efficient unit thanks to aerodynamic changes that have been brought in and reduction of air friction in the engine.
Engine:
The new Vento gets an option of three engines, two petrol and a diesel….
The option of manual as well as automatic transmission does make the Vento an appealing car for many. Safety has not taken the backseat as dual airbags upfront are standard across variants. ABS, however, is not available in the base variant (Trendline) while ESP and Hill hold control are present only in the Comfortline and Highline but only in the DSG transmission units.
Design changes:
The new Vento gets a wider front grille with chrome lining, a more aerodynamic bonnet, new alloy wheels with an option of 15 inch Zikornia alloys in the Highline trim. The chrome strip continues on the lower lip of the front bumper and the boot cover in the rear. The exhaust tip and the door handles too get a new look. Interiors get new dual tone paint scheme of Walnut desert beige in the Highline trim and Cloud Titanschwarz in the Trendline and Comfortline. The company claims that the LED tail lamps too have a new 3D effect.
