Yesterday, first ever on road spyshots of Datsun Go made way across the web from Chennai. A white mule doing duty in simple subtle manner was spotted uncamouflaged.
An Indianautosblog.com reader has spotted a new brown Go mule on the GST road in Chennai near Nissan’s factory. This confirms that Datsun has started full fledged testing of Datsun Go and we assume they will leave no stone unturned to ensure all their homework is done before letting the product out in the market.
Go has to be success because:
- This is their first product in India and will ensure the brand reaches as many people as possible
- Go will slug it out in the most competitive entry level B segment in India which has some real aggressive players which are well established!
In terms of specs, Go will be powered by the same 1.2L 3 cylinder petrol engine that Micra and Micra Active gets.
Datsun Go! Pricing:
What Datsun has made clear is that Go will have an under Rs 4 Lakh pricing. With Micra Active starting at Rs 3.5 Lakh for the base variant, we get the feeling that Go may start just around the 3 Lakh figure with the top end touching the 4 Lakh mark.
Considering the packaging, we see Go as an immensely practical car and a 2.99 Lakh starting tag will definitely help push a lot of customers to Datsun’s showrooms!
