Audi India has launched the new A6 35 TFSI in India for Rs 45.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the new entry level variant which will add affordability to the A6 range. Apart from the engine, the car also gets a few changes to the interiors.
The A6 35 TFSI gets a1.8 litre in-line four cylinder spark ignition petrol engine with an exhaust turbocharger and Audi valvelift system. The company claims that the new engine has an increased fuel efficiency to 15.26 kmpl (increased by 12.7 per cent) without compromising on power which also gets increased by 5 per cent.
Displacing 1,798 cc, the engine produces 190 PS of maximum power in the range of 4,200 to 6,200 rpm and a torque output of 320 Nm which peaks in the range of 1,400 to 4,100 rpm. Transmission is overlooked by a 7 speed S-tronic gearbox which helps the car sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in claimed 7.9 seconds and registers a top whack of 233 kmph.
The new A6 gets LED headlights (no matrix head lamps which are found in its diesel variant) at the front and dynamic turn indicators at the rear. Built of light-weight aluminium and high tensile steel, the new A6 35 TFSI claims high structural safety. It also comes loaded with 8 airbags, parking assist, Audi pre sense and cruise control.
It also gets their next generation modular infotainment platform with a retractable MMI screen and an advanced voice dialogue system. The new A6 comes with a new seat upholstery in Milano Leather and Fine Grain Ash Natural Brown Inlays.
