Fiat India is hitting the headlines once again, this time for their hatchback Punto. Back in December 2012 Fiat, in their official roadmap announced the launch of Punto facelift but kept it under wraps at the Auto Expo.
And the new car which has been named as Punto EVO is all set to launch on the 5th of August in India at an event in Delhi. The invitations have been rolled out and team MotorBash will be at the venue to report about the proceedings live. After its national launch in Delhi, Fiat India will launch the car regionally at all major cities of India. Chennai is scheduled for 6th August, Bangalore and Mumbai on August 8 and Pune on 11th August 2014.
The new Punto Evo is a very important product for India, and it has to succeed if Fiat is to strike back. The new car gets a front nose and radiator grille which is based on the company’s upcoming crossover hatch Avventura. A bit of chrome overdose at the front makes the fog lamp cluster look large. It also gets new alloys and LED tail lamps.
The black and beige interiors are a replica of the recently launched Linea facelift. Both these cars remain two of the most elegant products in their segments, flaunting a strong Italian flavor. New Punto Evo gets two new colors: Glitterati Gold and Magnesio Grey.
The Punto Evo will be available in both petrol and diesel in a range of engine options, with 5 speed manual gearboxes performing the transmission duties on all the variants.
Punto Evo’s launch will be followed by the launch of Avventura, sometime before the festive season begins.
