Hyundai India seems to be on Cloud 9 thanks to the heavy rush which is eating up their new Elite i20 like fresh cakes. The company in an official communication has told us that they have registered 15,300 bookings of the car in the first 20 days since its launch.
This new car, which appears to be larger than the older i20, has clearly appealed to the masses. Hyundai also tells us that the new Elite i20 has received about 79,200 inquiries in these 20 days.
Hyundai India’s plan to take the Indian market very seriously by updating their product portfolio every few months, is clearly winning them a lot of customers. In fact, the older i20 looked absolutely stunning and fresh even when Hyundai decided to discontinue it from production.
In comparison, the Xcent clocked 11,000 bookings in the first 30 days while the Grand i10 hatchback saw 10,000 bookings in the first 20 days. In fact, this is Hyundai’s fifth successful product launch. The demand for the Elite i20 is more than what the company had expected and the management is busy trying to increase its production to keep a firm tap on the waiting period. This would help in faster deliveries, leading to more and more people getting a new car during the festive season.
The Elite i20 comes with a very European styling and high set of features. Hyundai has nearly 400 dealers and 1,045 service points in the country, and such a widespread reach has definitely helped in the company becoming and sustaining the second largest car manufacturer tag in the country.
