New Mahindra U301 Interiors Revealed, From Inside ;)

Mahindra’s upcoming U301, which is touted to be the next-generation Bolero, has been spotted by the folks at MotorOctane, this time with clearer interior pictures taken from inside the test mule.

Bolero is one of the largest selling Utility Vehicle in the country and has a huge following specially in the semi-urban and rural areas of the country.

Of whatever is visible under that yellow hiding, the dashboard, which may be a dual tone unit, gets a drab boring look. The silver outlines on AC vents and center console look better. The gear knob looks dated and 90s Jeeps had better looking sticks! There are also a couple of holes near that 12 volt socket which appear to be a USB and aux-in.

Apart from that we can notice dual tone upholstery, arm rest and power window switches placed inconveniently near the hand brake lever.

The U301 will be a sub 4 meter UV and will, in all probability, get the 1.5 liter diesel engine from Quanto and there is a possibility of the introduction of a small newly developed 1.2 liter petrol engine and there are chances of Mahindra considering offering AMT on the UV as well.

Everything appears to be interesting, but we are still unsure of this getting the Bolero label. Why will Mahindra kill their stable product which is bought for its interior space? So, either this U301 will get a different moniker or there will be a separate regular sized Bolero on offer, for sure…
