As the new Santa Fe launch event on the 5th of February inches closer, some interesting exterior and interior shots of the vehicle have found their way onto the cyberspace. These spyphotos from Motortrend.in show that the Santa Fe has started reaching dealerships.
The new Hyundai Santa Fe will be launched during the Auto Expo on the 5th of February, 2014. Hyundai expects the new model to be a more potent rival and an aggressive competitor to the Fortuner and others with better road presence, feature list and price. The spypics include clear interior shots too, and these show that the interiors are much finer than that of the outgoing edition.
Amidst all this activity, there are a few leaked presentation slides about the new Santa Fe courtesy Team-BHP.com. The shocking claim is that the new Santa Fe will have an ARAI certified mileage of 24 kmpl!! We don’t believe this claim, and feel that the fuel efficiency will be significantly lower. Current Santa Fe is rated at 14.66kmpl for the manual and 11.72kmpl for the automatic. 24kmpl is in the whereabouts (or higher than) of B-segment diesel hatchbacks which is simply not possible!
The new Santa Fe will be powered by the same 2.2 Litre diesel engine outputting 197 horses as maximum. Three variants will be available, with the base variant being the 2WD with a six-speed manual transmission and the higher variant being a 4WD with a six-speed manual transmission. The range topping variant will be a 4WD with a six-speed AT.

New Santa Fe Price
According to this slide, the new Santa Fe is priced at a starting tag of Rs 23.6 Lakhs and the range topping 4WD AT costs Rs 26.7 Lakhs. If these are true, they are about 2 Lakhs over what we expected!
Now, we are not sure about the authenticity of this presentation. This appears to be a training material to some dealership’s sales team which has some silly errors and spelling mistakes along with some incorrect information. If it is, no wonder your sales rep knows only this much!
