Looking for a new premium hatchback but being a Maruti loyalist you don’t want to move to other manufacturers? Don’t worry..Maruti is definitely working on a new variant of Swift.
Gaadiwaadi.com has shared new spy shots of the ‘mysterious’ Swift yet again from Maruti’s plant and the pictures show the presence of LED daytime running lights just under the fog lamps, which, at the face of it, makes it apparently the Swift facelift (international Swift facelift is similar), however, these new Swifts are very limited in number in the parking lot clearing that Maruti is continuing with the production of the current Swift.
This means that this may be an additional new variant in the Swift lineup and there is a possibility of Maruti calling it as the Z+ variant, as in ZXi+/ZDi+ or better as Swift Sports. The spotted Swift also has newer alloy wheels. It is also believed to be getting rear disc brakes, push button start and reverse parking assist. And then there is this presence of the new bright red color.
Swift is the largest selling car in its segment but there is room for Maruti to place a slightly premium version which has been taken care of by i20 for many years now. The new Elite i20 also attracts customers from not just hatchbacks, but also from the sedan segment.
This new version of the Swift aims to do just that. There is also a possibility of Maruti plonking the more powerful 90PS VGT version of DDIS to do justice to the ‘Sports’ tag, if it will sport one. Launch is expected anytime soon.
