Apart from Tata, home-grown Mahindra also faced a significant challenge maintaining their sales amidst the intense competition which has ventured in its stronghold. However, they responded aggressively and launched the new XUV500, much-bettered Scorpio and the new TUV300 and they have quite a number of launches planned in the future as well.
But what is interesting to note is this – the new XUV500, which was launched in May this year, is going at discounts of upto Rs 60,000 – possibly the highest ever! The new sharper Scorpio, which has completed one year in the market, is also being offered at benefits of upto Rs 59,000.
Apart from this, Mahindra is literally trying to get rid of whatever units of Quanto it has already produced which are lying at various dealerships. The slashed version of Xylo gets massive discounts of upto Rs 1 Lakh before its comprehensive facelift makes way sometime by March this year. Sales have been reduced to double digit figures and we doubt if Mahindra is still producing it!
Mahindra’s largest seller Bolero is also on the list with hefty offers of upto Rs 74,500 whereas the Ssangyong Rexton, which has seen a major slide in sales, gets discounts of upto Rs 1.75 Lakhs.
These offers are applicable from 1st to 28th of December and are year-end discounts to clear off inventory since a few months down the line, buyers will tend to avoid 2015-year models. These offers will vary from city to city and are applicable on select models/variants. They will be divided into cash, insurance, job-related discounts. Mahindra is all set to launch the XUV100/S101 and New Quanto soon.
