Next-Gen Figo Hatch Coming by Oct-Nov; Endeavour Launch Later

Ford will launch the new Figo hatch before the Endeavour SUV!

At the launch of the all-new Figo Aspire, Ford announced that they will introduce the Next-Gen Figo hatch within some months this year and the Endeavour is scheduled for its launch sometime later, which may NOT be this year!

The current Figo, known for being a VFM car, has lost a significant market in the last few months. To give you a perspective, it sold only 463 units in July 2015 as compared to 1519 in the same month last year. In the cumulative (April to July) sales comparison, Ford has managed only 3003 units this year, whereas the figure for the same period last year stood at 6360 units, inferring a drop of over 50 percent.

But if you look at it, this was, kind of, expected since people knew that the new-gen version is on the anvil and the company also officially announced new Figo’s launch at the inauguration of Sanand plant earlier this year. Based on the official production figures we have, Ford has still NOT withdrawn the current Figo from production lines. The new Figo hatch, which is based on the same platform of the Figo Aspire, will be launched by October-November this year to ensure it capitalizes on the festive frenzy.

On the other hand, against the common belief, new-gen Endeavour will come after the Figo hatchback which means it may slip to an early next year introduction. Interestingly, Ford has updated their website with the new Endy and also flew some journos to Thailand recently for an early preview of the upcoming SUV. The EcoSport facelift has also been snapped testing in India signalling its launch plans for our country.
