The Nissan Micra turned five in India and to celebrate the occasion, the manufacturer has launched a limited edition variant of the car called the Micra X-shift. Based on the entry level XL variant, the car gets the Xtronic CVT automatic gearbox and carries a price tag of Rs 6,39,990. However the car will be limited to just 750 units. The automatic transmission though will also be made available in the XL trim.
The car features the same 1.2 litre three cylinder petrol mill producing 77 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 104 Nm of peak torque at 4,400 rpm. The company claims that the Xtronic CVT technology helps the car return an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 19.34 kmpl. It also gets Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) with three modes for Sporty, Normal and Economy driving patterns.
ASC attempts to predict driver’s requirements and deliver the optimum shift pattern to achieve both fuel efficiency and drivability. The Sport mode can be activated via a button on the shift lever and it tries to give an extra boost to the car’s performance. Safety features include driver side airbag (which was already present in the XL variant), ABS, Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)and Brake Assist.
Interior changes include a new steering wheel from the Sunny and a driver’s side arm rest. The limited edition X-shift gets matte black roof wrap, side decals and chrome tipped exhaust. Interiors get branded floor mats, silver finished door arm rests, LED scuff plates and reverse parking sensors. The X-Shift will be available at the same price as of the XL CVT trim.
