Nissan is planning to go the utility way full fledged it seems. After Evalia, they have been caught testing this van called as Urvan. An AutoCar reader clicked these pictures near Chennai.
It was expected that Nissan would wait to see the response Evalia generates before it ventures into another utility type of a vehicle but it seems Nissan is fast and already on to it.
However, Urvan could be more of a commercial vehicle rather than a personal one majorly because of its size and dimensions along with a big seating capacity.
This vehicle can be used as a cargo carrier as well as a micro-bus with seating capacity of up to 14 people, depending upon the seating configuration. In Philippines, this Urvan is powered by a 3.0-Litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 105 HP of power and 209 Nm of torque.
We don’t have any further information on the possible engine options on Urvan. We do not expect Nissan to use the versatile 1.5L diesel engine on this one as it would be an overkill.
Lets wait for sometime as more information would sip in gradually. In India Urvan looks more like a competitor of Tata Winger considering the seating capacity. Keep tuned as we try to find out more…
