Not Again! Nissan Increases Prices of Micra, Sunny and Evalia

Its not an easy world out there, for sure! Barely a few days have gone by when auto manufacturers, including Nissan increased prices of its cars, we have another press release coming in for further increase.

Nissan says they have increased prices of its cars from 01 February and the quantum of hike will range from 1.5% to 2.5%. Here is how much the respective models will go dearer by (upto)…

  1. Micra hatchback: 1.5%
  2. Sunny: 2%
  3. Evalia: 2.5%

Nissan’s Evalia might just be the hardest hit after this price hike!

This means that Micra will go dearer by approx 7000-10,000, Sunny by Rs 10,000 to almost 20,000 and Evalia will be the hardest hit with an increase of over Rs 25,000. Nissan will be launching an entry level Active variant of Micra which has already been caught on tests in India and will sit under the current Micra.

However, Nissan must be worried about Evalia. The MUV which was touted to be an Innova/Ertiga competitor is nowhere around when it comes to sales despite the product being very fresh to the market. The good thing, though, is that Nissan has played the smart game by not including their bread and butter Duster in this hike; Ecosport effect, anyone?

How these hikes will affect Nissan’s sales remains to be seen.
