November 2012 Sales: Ford’s Domestic Sales Decline Sharply; Exports at an All Time High

With steep hikes in fuel prices and taxes, all the car makers are having hard times selling their products in the market. All the manufacturers counted on the festive season for a healthy growth and here we have the official figures of Ford India for the month of November 2012.

The company has managed to export 4,211 units of vehicles to the overseas market which is an all time high for the company and is over 200 per cent increase compared to November 2011. The company has also added two new members into the list of its export markets: Algeria and Tunisia. this takes the total number of export markets of the company to 37.

However, its domestic market suffered a massive decline of 28.5 percent and stood at 5944 units against the 8322 units it sold during November 2011.

Mr. Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director, Marketing,  Sales and Service, Ford India said “By delivering vehicles which are packed with smart technologies, great safety features, are incredibly fuel efficient and which offer a terrific value for money package, we continue to attract many new-to-Ford customers”.

Despite ongoing market challenges, we are very pleased to see customer sentiments improving and their confidence in the Ford brand continuing to grow”, he also added.

The New Ford Figo Facelift

Ford India has also inaugurated three new dealerships in Jaipur (Rajasthan), Rewari and Sirsa (in Haryana) taking the total number of dealerships to 247 in India. It aims to take the number to over 500 by 2015. The company has recently launched a facelifted Figo, you can read more about it here. Ford would be putting all hopes on the upcoming EcoSport to bring a fresh life to its monthly sales tally just like Duster did to Renault.
