OFFICIAL: Ford EcoSport Bookings Open – Booking Amount Rs 50,000

In an interesting turn of events, Ford has officially started taking bookings of the much-awaited EcoSport compact SUV. Interesting, because Ford announced even minute bits via press releases, but for this important information we have not received any official word from the company yet.

Just a word at the official Twitter and Facebook fan page is all Ford did to announce the official launch of bookings. So, for all of you waiting for the EcoSport, here is the preliminary news! You can go ahead and officially book the car for an early delivery.

  • The Official Booking amount is Rs 50,000
  • Booking Cancellation charges are Rs 3000

There are instances of dealers taking as high as Rs 2 Lakh as EcoSport booking charges. We suggest you not to pay anything over and above this amount of Rs 50,000. For any grievances or misdoings report about the concerned dealerships to Ford. And for those, who would prefer to wait before putting the money on the table, the official launch is not very far away and it is definitely taking place this month.

The good thing about EcoSport’s booking, we hear, is that with each booking, a customer is being provided a unique serial number informing him his standing in the country/city and reducing the chances of foulplay at the dealerships.

There is the 1.0L 125PS/170Nm/18.9kmpl Turbocharged Ecoboost engine and 1.5L 112PS/140Nm/15.8kmpl Ti-VCT naturally aspirated petrol engine and 1.5L 91PS/204Nm/22.7Kmpl TDCi diesel engine. You also get the option of Automatic Transmission with the 1.5L petrol motor.
