As we informed earlier that Ford would be unveiling its EcoSport soon and the SUV would be priced at 53,490 R$ (~14.6 Lakh) in Brazil. It goes official and Brazil would become the first country in the world where people can buy and own the sought after EcoSport.
Ford conducted its second edition of ‘EcoSport Parade’ in Porto Alegre where the car was ‘brought down from heaven‘! As a part of the event, the New EcoSport was suspended at a height of 40 feet and then it was brought down providing an apprehension that EcoSport is coming from heaven. There were a lot of other events which were planned to entertain and enthrall the crowd.
With this gala event, Ford has officially signed off the pre-sales process of EcoSport. Interested souls have to register on EcoSport’s site and the first 2500 registered people who reach Ford dealerships at 9am on 14th July would secure their booking and would get the chance to own the EcoSport first in the world. However, the delivery is expected to commence in a couple of months.
In this pre-edition sales, Ford has introduced two variants of the EcoSport.

About Prices:
At first look, these prices appear too high for us but in Brazil cars are priced higher than in India. The Fiesta sedan also starts at R$ 46,020 which equates to something around 12.55 Lakh. However, new Fiesta in India starts from 7.35 Lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi). Obviously these Fiesta’s have different mills and features.
Brazilian Ford EcoSport is also different from the Indian EcoSport including the mills and possibly the features. Also, EcoSport would be a sub-4 meter car in India and hence it would qualify for lesser 12 percent excise duty in turn resulting in a lower on-road price.
