Official Images of Mercedes Benz G63 AMG made public: Gallery

There are the first official pictures of Mercedes Benz G63 AMG which would be premiering at the Beijing Auto Show 2012. This ‘thing’ produces a massive 544PS of brutal power at 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 760Nm between 2000-5000 rpm through its bi-turbo V8 5.5 liter direct injection petrol engine.

Transmission duties are done by a 7 speed automatic box and a 4 wheel drive system.

Excerpts from Mercedes Benz Official page:

For the power hungry who crave even more of a good thing, the 2013 G-Class also comes in G63 AMG form, handcrafted by the renowned high-performance division of Mercedes-Benz. At its heart, an all-new, hand-built 5.5-liter V-8 AMG engine with twin turbochargers pumps out a blistering 544 horsepower — along with 560 lb-ft of asphalt- or wilderness-taming torque. All to the growl of dual chrome-tipped, side-exit exhaust pipes.

A handcrafted interior has always been the belly of the G-Class beast. But now it’s been wholly reimagined to offer not only greater comfort and refinement, but also enhanced technology, such as the latest Mercedes-Benz COMAND system with center console-mounted controller, and the next-generation mbrace2 telematics system. To complement the uncommon array of standard amenities — from Heated and Active Ventilated Front Seats, to interior ambient lighting and an 11-speaker harman/kardon surround-sound system — the 2013 G550 and G63 AMG cabins comes tailored in full-grain leather and exclusive designo leather, respectively. And while there’s no shortage of details to catch the eye, perhaps the most conspicuous of all sits atop the redesigned dashboard: an all-new, freestanding 8-inch display.

Just as the G-Class leads the way down the road less travelled, it also blazes new trails in safety — a Mercedes-Benz hallmark. In 2013 models, Blind Spot Assist, PARKTRONIC and DISTRONIC adaptive cruise control join other standard equipment designed for peace of mind, including 8-way airbag protection, a rear view camera and our landmark 4-Wheel Electronic Traction System.

For over three decades, the G-Class has journeyed to the ends of the earth and back again, bringing with it a combination of hard-nosed capability and handcrafted luxury that has no equal. Quite simply, it was engineered to be the best. And mile by mile, it has fulfilled that promise — again and again. Although the interior may be more luxurious, the engines more powerful and the technology more advanced, one thing will never change: the uncompromising character of a vehicle that’s unlike any other on earth.
